Businesses interested in the North’s long-term rail travel prospects can find out more at an event in Leeds on 4 March.
A Rail North event at PWC, Wellington St, Leeds, from 8.30-9.30 (breakfast from 8) will outline a long-term strategy that sets out how rail will support Northern economic growth over the next 20 years by improving connectivity. It is also hoped to bring forward future electrification schemes to realise the ‘Northern Powerhouse’ concept mentioned in recent months.
Roger Marsh of Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership, along with James Lewis and David Hoggarth of West Yorkshire Combined Authority, will present at the event.
Also in the spotlight will be the new franchises planned for Northern Rail and TransPennine Express.
