Powerhouse brochure and upcoming event

A new brochure has been produced to help support the campaign to bring a high-speed rail station to Bradford.

Part of the proposal for what is being touted as a ‘CrossRail North’ scheme to build a high-speed trans-Pennine rail link includes having a station in the West Yorkshire city.  The campaign, also backed by Leeds, spells out that a Bradford station would serve the wider West Yorkshire area also, and not just the city itself.

A major business event to feature the main themes being highlighted in the campaign took place in Leeds on 27 April, while MPs and other stakeholders like West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Transport for the North have pledged their support.

The 12-page brochure is available here.

The Chamber is currently lobbying central government to secure an ongoing commitment to future transport schemes including Northern Powerhouse Rail and HS2.  Transport for the North recently presented its vision for the future at a meeting in Bradford.  Businesses, including the Chamber, were present.
