Eco fair 2015 has something for everyone

There’s less than two weeks to go before the popular environmental conference, ECO FAIR returns on 18th June providing a packed programme of seminars on waste, environmental management, energy and reducing costs. Now in its 6th year, the event will appeal to any business owner or manager looking to improve ways of working or make cost savings in their business.

During the day eight organisations will provide details of their environmental journeys during a series of case study presentations. Westex Carpets, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Marshalls, the University of Leeds, Camira Fabrics, Callcredit Information Group, Compass Group UK & Ireland and Leeds City Council will present seminars.

In the property and people themed seminar zone, Hedia Delly, Group Head of Facilities & Health & Safety, from the Callcredit Information Group will share her experiences of implementing and embedding integrated environmental health & safety management processes. Hedia will discuss how an integrated approach has helped to secure investment for projects, upskill teams across 11 locations, streamline internal working groups and compliance auditing and also enhance relationships with landlords and suppliers.

Other seminars will provide technical guidance on the Energy Savings Opportunities Scheme, environmental rules and regulations that all businesses must comply with, the 2015 revision to the international standard for Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001), the business case for investing in renewable energy and skills that environmental professionals and businesses need to contribute to and function effectively within a sustainable economy.

The event, organised by West & North Yorkshire Chamber will also include an exhibition area hosting businesses offering environmental technologies, support and services around the three themes of energy and renewables, material and water together with property and people.

Elin Pheasant, environmental advisor at the Chamber said: “ECO FAIR is open to any business person looking for information, support or ideas on making material, energy and water savings and running their businesses more efficiently. It’s free to attend and well worth visiting for all or part of the day.”

ECO FAIR 2015 takes place from 8.30am to 4.00pm at Centenary Pavillion, Elland Road in Leeds.

There are still a few exhibition stands remaining for businesses to showcase their environmental products or services. Anyone interested in further details can visit www.eco-fair.co.uk, call 01274 206660 or email info@eco-fair.co.uk.
