Leeds City Council is currently consulting on a draft Parking Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). The Leeds Parking SPD will form part of the portfolio of documents which constitute the Local Development Framework (LDF). The purpose of the draft Leeds Parking SPD is to formalise the current parking policies and to update the maximum parking guidelines for new developments. The SPD also sets out the way that the Council operates the public car parking under its control.
The draft SPD covers parking policy throughout the district, but also sets out a specific strategy for City Centre parking management. It covers bicycle and motorcycle parking as well as car parking. Feedback from the public consultation will be taken into account when finalising the SPD.
