The Construction Summit North, organised by Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, returns to Manchester on 14th July, providing an opportunity for key figures in the property and construction sector to discuss the challenges and obstacles faced by the industry and look at ways to ensure the sector maintains its current growth.
The property and construction sector contributes substantially to the region’s economy with construction output worth £30bn in the North West alone up to 2018*. With over 400 key delegates from the Property and Construction sector expected to attend, the event is the largest of its kind outside London.
Construction Summit North will be held at the Emirates Old Trafford and is all all-day event, consisting of panel discussions and guest speakers, including John Twigg from Manchester Airport and CEO of Network Rail, Mark Carne. Supported by headline sponsors The University of Salford, the event will provide a platform for businesses to gain an understanding of policy changes affecting the industry and help shape decisions on future working practices.
Chris Fletcher, director of marketing and policy at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, said: “The property and construction sector remains one of the largest and key areas of economic growth in the North West. With the promise of a Northern Powerhouse and the devolution of powers now in place, it is clear that we will need to call upon the skills and expertise of the property, construction and manufacturing sectors to deliver on those promises.”
With other summit partners including HS2, Skanska, GVA Grimley and Sellafield Ltd, the event is set to strengthen the roadmap of the industry as it looks ahead to the next decade and its involvement in a part of the country that will be home to some of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects.
