Commerce Court, the managed work space in Bradford run by the West & North Yorkshire, recently celebrated its twentieth birthday.
Originally built by Bradford City Challenge and managed by the Chamber on a long term lease, Commerce Court has housed over 400 businesses from a huge variety of sectors many of which have gone on to bigger and better things.
It has also has a significant positive impact on the surrounding area as a percentage of any profits made go to help support local causes with over £700,000 already invested back into the area.
Chamber Property Director, Andrew Robertson commented “We can look back proudly on the past 20 years. We wanted to achieve something above and beyond a traditional managed workspace. The feedback we receive from both our tenants and community representatives is always positive. We have every intention of being here for the next twenty years.”
Current tenant, Magnitude Surveys is a start-up company providing archaeological geophysics surveys to the community, private and public sectors. Chrys Harris, senior geophysicist said: “When we were looking for premises we had a good idea of what we wanted. Commerce Court comes as a managed workspace, and linked with the Chamber, comes with the support and business knowledge base that has helped us a new business. As well as its location close by the motorway what really sold it was its overall friendly welcoming community – the team – but also other businesses. It really helped us get settled, and up and running quickly and efficiently.”
Former tenant John Green of Commerce Business Systems, added: “We were based at Commerce Court for over 10 years. The location is fantastic and the support we received helped our business go to the next level. As a tenant you couldn’t ask for a better service.”
